There are always questions of what the City is doing for Hominy and I would like to inform our citizens of our ongoing projects we are working on at this time.
We are going to continue to remove the dead trees at the City Lake.
We are going to grade and gravel the alleys in town and some of the roads at the City Lake.
We are going to replace the 4” pipe behind the old bowling alley with a 12” whistle and deepen the ditch east to Highway 99 in order to relieve the water backing up,
Work has begun in preparation of the repairs to the spillway below the Hominy City Dam.
Osage County is getting ready to asphalt the road between the splash pad and the ambulance buildings from highway 99 west to the ambulance garage and the ambulance sleeping quarters.6. We are going to asphalt some of the roads at the cemetery to stop the gravel from washing out onto the grave sites.
Osage County is going to repair the two sink holes north of the bridge by the tennis courts and widen the ditch to match the existing ditch’s north to the church.
The 90 day permit to move water from the old City Lake to the new City Lake has expired. I have signed and sent to the Oklahoma Water Resources Board a request for a permanent fix to any future water shortages by pumping water from either Penn Creek or Big Hominy Creek to the new Hominy City Lake.
I am continuing to send out abatement letters concerning the high grass and abandon vehicles.
We will start cleaning up Main Street to make the town more presentable, to include the planters at the corners.I hope this enlightens you of some of the things we are trying to do to improve the City. Please feel free to call the City Hall for answers to any questions you may have.
